Budućnost has won the Podgorica derby against Titograd, beating them with 2:1 and by this got revenge after the loss in the previous part of the season. This was also debut of the new coach Mladen Milinković on the bench of the “blue-whites” and surely he could not wish for a better start on the bench.
Our team was better during all ninety minutes even though it lacked some of the players, like Milić and Grbić due to previously gained cards and also Vujačić i Bašić due to injuries.
Despite these circumstances players in blue and white started aggressively towards the opponents goal from the beginning with aim to show “whose town is it”. High pressing and constant pressure resulted in a goal in 20. minute.
Zarubica wanted to surprise Ivanović, guests goalkeeper made a mistake that Stoiljković punished with a goal.
By the end of the first half Zarubica, Terzić and Božović had their chances, but the guest had luck to save themselves from a new goal.
Second half continued in the same manner, with a constant attacks by the host, while Titograd was searching for a chance from a counter-attack. In 58. minute Vučić showed again what a powerful weapon he hides in his legs. His free kick shot from almost 30 meters ended up in the goal of Titograd. After this , guests have “opened the cards” and started putting pressure on our team, which resulted in i a goal in 72. minute by Merdović. In the next round our team will be a guest in Nikšić, playing in a Montenegro derby game against Sutjeska. This is going to be a chance for a revenge from the previous match against them.
Mladen Milinković statement:
Manager of the coaching staff did not hide joy and satisfaction after the match, but he also said that space for improvement exist.
“Budućnost played in the first half the way i wanted and asked of them. We had possession, made chances, only the final realization lacked.” -said the new manager.
“Second half we played somewhat worse because players entered nervous. We are going to work on these things in the future. There are also some small details very important in todays football that we cannot allow ourselves to happen. Still, there si very short amount of time that we are working together, only fifteen days and we are still getting to know each other. I am sure as time goes by we will manage to remove all lacks in our game and start to be better and better.” – said Milinković in the end.
