A session of the Board of Directors of the Football Club Budućnost was held today, and the members stated that the year is one of the most successful – in terms of results and finances – in the recent history of the club, despite the pandemic caused by the corona virus everywhere in the world.
As the management of the club, we provided the best possible conditions for the professional staff and players, and the first team followed that by winning the title in the 2019/20 season. The cup in the championship was not taken care of, but we made a step forward in Europe with the biggest victory in the history of Buducnost against Astana, and it certainly remains a pity for the unfortunate elimination from Sarajevo. However, we believe that we will take another step forward next season, but above all that we will defend the championship crown. All preconditions exist, because we have a foundation in the organization of the club, but also in the professional staff, first team players and younger categories.
The financial business of the club has never been better because the most fruitful financial year is behind us – we have collected long-term receivables, we have received money from the European football house UEFA in proportion to our result on the euro scene, employees are paid on time, and we will certainly continue to work. quality for the benefit of our club.
Budućnost as the largest and most popular club is the initiator of changes in the domestic championship, our obligation is to be better and more organized from year to year, but also to influence other clubs – sports rivals on the field – to raise the organization to a higher level and give us the championship from year to year it will be more recognized in Europe. It seems to us that a shift has already been made this season.
We are especially happy that our club made several transfers during the summer and that we became a talent nursery again, by which we were recognizable in the past. In order to continue to produce talented players in the future, we have placed a special emphasis on the youth school, which we are more than satisfied with. At today’s session of the Board, a report was adopted and a project on further plans of the youth school was presented. Our goal will not be titles, despite the fact that they are welcome, but the production of young football players to whom we will dedicate ourselves to the maximum through team and individual work. The report of the sports director was also adopted, as well as the internal acts of the club – the disciplinary rulebook and the rulebook on premiums.
The session of the Management Board was attended by the Mayor of Podgorica, Dr. Ivan Vukovic, the President of the Club, Veselin Mijac, as well as all members except the justifiably absent member of the Montenegrin national team, Nikola Vukcevic.
