the chosen players in the past 10 years. I have been selected to the ideal
championship teams several times, but I am watching this as the greatest
recognition in his career so far.
Who were your football role models? As a child of this
city, did you especially like any player of our club?
Well, almost like everyone from my generation, they are Dejan
Savicevic and Pedja Mijatović. Of course, I don’t remember them from
Buducnost, but from the players who I remember it was Vanja Popovic,
Zlatko Kostic, Aco Nedovic, who were phenomenal players.
Do you remember your first visit to the stadium
under Gorica?
It was a long time ago, I think I was 5 or 6
years old, I went with my brother, my father led us. I remember I didn’t
even watch the game until the end, but in the second half I ran around the
stands and found one of my own occupation. From that period I remember
always going to the exit from locker rooms, waiting to the players
pass by me, to give them a hand, to just touch them. I’ve been overjoyed
when one of the players would greet me, and that was always done by Miloš Krstajic,
then the goalkeeper of our club.
Do you remember your debut in a blue and white
jersey?
I joined the first team at the age of 16, for a
year and a half I trained with the first team, playing matches for cadets and
juniors. I made my debut when I was less than 18 years old, against Crvena
Zvezda at Marakana, which was the state champion even back then and had players
who made great careers. That is the last official match between Buducnost and
Crvena Zvezda, because we are then became an independent state, and we started
playing the Montenegrin League.
Your favorite moment in a blue and white
jersey?
There are many moments that I remember, but I
will single them out one when I was nine or ten years old, and when my then
coach was Janko Miročević, with whom I started coaching football in a private
school, said yes I come to the stadium to be registered in the football club
Budućnost. I think so I still have that first booklet and picture in a blue and
white jersey at my parents’ house. Later, there were many more dear moments,
but my first meeting with the club was entering in the club and locker room
offices, remained deeply etched in the memory.
How happy you are to have a sudden return to
the club obligations and whether after such a break there is motivation to win
the double crown the same?
As athletes and football players, we are
happiest when we train and we play football and surely we are all looking
forward to the continuation of the season. Our goal is known, we are on a good path to achieve that, and I
am glad to see that the player does not have it not a shred of relaxation, but
we are all motivated to provide as soon as possible title. We have an eleven
point advantage, great chemistry between players, coaches and management, so I
think there’s no reason not to finish starting a business as we have
charted.
The championship will most likely continue, but
without the presence of an audience. How much this will represent a lack of
completeness experiences and incentives for you, especially the one from our
City Stadium?
We will definitely miss the fans, because they
follow us with the code at home and on all visits, but the situation is such
that there is a risk of viruses and we have to accept that and continue the
competition without the presence of the audience. I hope so that the situation
will be better at least in the end, when maybe we could do it together let’s
celebrate winning the title and the double crown.
