As part of a series of interviews of standard first team players of our club who were of previously conducted poll, on club social networks, found among the best
eleven players of our club in the past decade, it was the turn of Peter
Favorite of Podgorica’s audience, especially the most ardent part of it, after years spent playing abroad returned to his hometown to play for a club whose jersey, he said, even as a boy he dreamed of wearing.
The family Grbić has always had his undeniable talent for sports through various sports disciplines unreservedly gave to the surrender of our city, further complementing the family the atmosphere of the “blue and white” community, as well as the radiant spirit of sports Podgorica in to each of the teams. Namely, Petro’s sister Itana, otherwise a member of the Montenegrin national team and one of the best wings in the world, he has recently become a member of handball again club Budućnost.
Peter has recently found himself in a new role, this time related to management the youth team of our club, where we will not doubt our pedagogical and professional use the potential to help younger players in their further development.
The fans put you on the team the best players of the Future in the past decade. How much it represents to you additional motive and desire to find yourself in the next survey of a similar type, related to some future period?
First of all, it represents a large part for me, and then the obligation to do so in the following period while I wear the jersey of the Future, I give my maximum, as I have done so far. As for the choice of course I am honored and this is perhaps my biggest personal reward in career so far, especially since I got it from fans from my own of the city and from my country, in the club where I grew up. As for the poll of this I don’t see myself in any of the following, because I hope younger guys will come too take my place as well as the place of my colleagues.
Who were your football role models? As a child of this city, did you especially like any player of our club?
My football role models were Dejan Savicevic, Andrej Shevchenko because I am with The future and a big Milan fan. As for the role models from our city and club it has always been and remains Igor Burzanović.
Do you remember your first departure to the stadium under Gorica?
I can’t even remember my first visit to the stadium, but it’s one thing for sure, and that is that I spent most of my childhood in our stadium, watching first team matches and trainings.
Do you remember your debut in a blue and white jersey?
I remember my debut not so long ago. After many years spent abroad I returned to my club and fulfilled the desire to play for the first team of Buducnost. It was a game against Zeta that I will remember while I am alive.
Your favorite moment in a blue and white jersey?
Lots of nice wins, and the right things are yet to come, so this is my question set at the end of the season. (laughter)
How happy you are to have a sudden return club obligations and whether after such a break the motivation to win a double crowns the same?
We are looking forward to returning to training, we have already longed for each other. After these breaks and as long as we wear the blue and white jersey of motivation to win the trophy it must not be missed.
The championship will most likely take place continue, but without the presence of the audience. How much of a disadvantage will that be a complete experience and encouragement for you, especially the one from our City stadium?
Football is not the same with the fans and without them. I hope it will be as soon as possible fans come back to the stadium because there were always 12 players for us.
You have been assigned a new role, this time related to leadership youth team. Although you have been a role model for our younger teams so far, does it represent an additional motivation and obligation for you now when your games are on the field in question?
First of all, I would like to thank President Mijač, the mayor Ivan Vuković, as well as all members of the Board of Directors on the occasion to I will be at the head of the youth school of Budućnost. Choice in this position for me it is both an honor and an obligation to justify the trust shown. I’m glad I will my knowledge and experience that I gained over the years playing abroad power to pass on to younger generations. I’ve always been attracted to the idea of working with young people, and the awareness of the enormous potential of the youth of our city further motivates. My goal is for children to love and respect the coat of arms and the club they play for, and it is up to their coaches to pass on all the necessary football knowledge.
